President Elect Rae Beimer was presented with her Paul Harris Fellow by District Governor Kevin Padilla, Governor Elect Ray Sanford, and District Rotary Foundation Chair PDG Roger McGonegal.
The presentation of Paul Harris Fellow recognition is The Rotary Foundation’s way of expressing its appreciation for a substantial contribution to its many programs. It is named for our founder, Paul Harris, a Chicago lawyer who started Rotary International with three business associates in 1905.
It was established in 1957 to show appreciation for and encourage substantial contributions to what was then the Foundation’s only program, Rotary Foundation Fellowships for Advanced Study, the precursor to the Ambassadorial Scholarships.
The Paul Harris Fellow recognition acknowledges individuals who contribute, or who have contributions made in their name, of $1000 to The Rotary Foundation.
Rotarians often designate a Paul Harris Fellow as a tribute to a person whose life demonstrates a shared purpose with the objectives of The Rotary Foundation.
