Roger Ebert spent a year as a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar

In 1965, Roger Ebert spent a year abroad as an Ambassadorial Scholar. In this 1998 clip he relates how his experiences in South Africa gave him a more global outlook, and even helped point him toward a career in film criticism.  Ambassadorial Scholars are now part of Rotary’s Global Grants program.  If you or someone you know might be interested, please contact your local Rotary club for information.
